FUSE is a three-tiered mentorship initiative run by second-year Advertising & Marketing Communications students, Andrea Durfee and Emily Fawcett. The ultimate goal of FUSE is to ensure AMC students make the most of their post-secondary education by providing them with the support of mentors, knowledge and connections that will ultimately help them in their careers after graduation.
In the first tier of the program, first-year AMC students are paired with second-year AMC mentors who provide support and share their knowledge of their own experience to help make the transition to college easier.
Through these relationships, first-year students feel welcomed and supported, which in turn helps improve their productivity as students. |
Students who participate in the first tier are given the option to apply to be a mentor as a second-year student. In order to qualify, first-year mentees must show commitment to FUSE.
Second-year mentors provide support, share their knowledge and complete monthly check-ins with FUSE executives to ensure that first-year students are making progress throughout the year. |
The third tier is designed to provide a significant career boost to AMC students by connecting them with professional mentors who will help them set and meet goals and may assist in developing professional networks before graduation.
The professional mentor is provided to third-year students as a reward for their hard work and dedication in their first two tiers. |
